Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Key responsibilities include:
* Producing weekly and monthly cost value reconciliations.
* Capturing and allocating costs and liabilities.
* Maintaining long-term relationships with internal and external teams.
* Managing opportunities and risks, and identifying deviations from standard practices.
* Assisting in developing commercial tenders, offers, and contracts.
* Identifying and escalating inappropriate costs.
* Recording and tracking insurance claims.
* Maintaining accurate contract data and records.
* Capturing and reporting on direct labour payments; drafting and awarding sub-contracts.
* Sharing best practices for continuous improvement.
About you:
You should have a relevant degree in construction or commercial management, with experience in subcontractor management. A strong commercial awareness, thorough understanding of NEC3 contracts, and knowledge of construction and contract law are essential. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required, along with advanced Excel skills.
You must be able to prioritize your workload, work collaboratively, and inspire others. Proactive in identifying and escalating issues, resilient in setbacks, and responsible for resolving problems. Ability to challenge situations positively and provide clear commercial information is also important.
