Role Overview
Production Leader – Permanent, full time. Reports to the Operations Director. The role combines hands‑on project delivery with team leadership in engineering and paint spraying functions. The ideal candidate has at least five years’ experience in engineering (electrical or mechanical), construction or manufacturing and is passionate about quality and customer focus.
Key Responsibilities
* Disassemble mechanical parts, ensuring no damage and preserving component integrity.
* Catalogue disassembly process with detailed records to support accurate reassembly.
* Collaborate with polishing and painting departments to prepare parts for display.
* Reassemble mechanical parts accurately for further use or display.
* Maintain high quality standards and precision in all work.
* Design and fabricate stands and crates for exhibition displays in partnership with fabricators and the Mechanical Engineer.
* Organise and deliver projects in accordance with internal processes.
* Lead and work with the team throughout project delivery to maintain quality and productivity requirements.
* Provide production support to the engineering aspects of the project from receipt to strip down and re‑building activities.
* Track progress and assist with project reporting to the customer.
* Co‑ordinate and manage resources to deliver projects.
* Co‑ordinate transportation, freight and shipping requirements.
* Manage supplier relationships, purchase ordering and supplier performance.
* Deliver daily activity briefings.
* Manage all activities in accordance with safety, quality and environmental requirements and business principles.
* Close out tasks including signing off job sheets, timesheets, photographs and delivery notes.
* Maintain plant and equipment used in the finishing process to ensure fit for purpose and safety.
* Report regularly on progress and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

* Minimum five years’ experience in engineering (electrical or mechanical), construction or manufacturing.

Qualifications
* Technical qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or construction.
* Leadership qualification or experience.
* Recognised learning & development qualification.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications (or similar).

* Programme or project management experience.
Salary & Hours
Salary between £32,000 – £38,000 depending on experience.
40‑hour week. Working hours 07:30am – 16:30pm.
Office Location
Orton Southgate, Peterborough. Expenses paid if working on‑site.
