We are seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive Premises Officer to join a busy and welcoming primary school in North Finchley, starting as soon as possible. This is a key role responsible for maintaining the school buildings, grounds, and ensuring a safe, secure environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. Senior leadership provides guidance and support while valuing the role as essential to the school’s daily operations. As a Premises Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the school facilities, supporting day-to-day operations, and ensuring that the school site remains safe and welcoming. You will liaise with contractors, manage minor repairs, and assist with events and logistical tasks across the school. Key Responsibilities Maintain and manage the school premises, buildings, and grounds Monitor health, safety, and security across the site Respond promptly to maintenance issues and liaise with contractors as needed Assist with the setup and takedown of school events, activities, and functions Carry out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations Support staff and pupils with site-related issues and requests Ensure equipment and tools are maintained safely and effectively Follow safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience in premises management, maintenance, or facilities work Be reliable, organised, and proactive Have a good understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures Be practical, hands-on, and able to solve problems efficiently Possess strong communication and teamwork skills Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing The school is located in North Finchley, with excellent local transport links and a supportive community.
