Job Description:
Interviews are being held on an ongoing basis.
Do you wish you had someone to guide you when you were aged between 16-21?
Branching Out needs motivated Support Workers to encourage our young people to be the best version of themselves. Being a young person is tough; help us mentor and lead future generations.
Here at Branching Out Newark, commissioned by Nottingham County Council, we offer a quality strengths-based support service which aims to build the skills, confidence, and independence of young people who come through our doors.
You must be willing and able to work and travel to both of our locations in Newark:
* Kings Road (NG24 1EW)
* Orchard Way (NG24 3LU)
Are you confident and resilient with previous experience working with Young People? If yes, then we have the perfect role for you.
We are looking for individuals with previous experience working with Young People and an understanding of the challenges they face, childhood trauma, and its effects. If you've worked as a teaching assistant, youth worker, or volunteered with Young People, we want to hear from you.
Our team plays a critical role in advocating for our tenants, liaising with agencies to help them access permanent accommodation, education, or employment training. We also advocate for them in meetings with services.
There’s still time for fun, as you will also support activities such as football, sports, and other recreational activities.
Looking for a hands-on role? Look no further.
Working on a rota basis requires flexibility over a 7-day schedule. Our service operates 24/7, with day shifts from 08:00 – 15:30 or 14:30 – 22:00. Night shifts are available occasionally, with applicable night enhancement rates.
Change can be challenging; your patient and assertive nature will ensure behaviors that challenge do not escalate, leading to positive outcomes.
Apply now and show us why you are suitable!
All successful candidates will be required to complete a short numerical and literacy test prior to the interview.
Please attach a CV to your application.
Please note: We are not currently offering visa sponsorship.
Previous applicants and re-applying colleagues will be reviewed at the manager’s discretion. The vacancy may close early if sufficient interest is received.
