The Student Life team aims to help our students enjoy and succeed at RGU by providing advice and programmes that support them in their journey through university and beyond. We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual, with excellent administrative and organisational skills who would enjoy working in partnership with our students to ensure their voice is heard on opportunities and challenges that are relevant to them and which will help shape the direction of the student experience at RGU.
Ideally you will have worked within tertiary education and be committed to engaging and supporting student representatives and university staff to work in partnership to deliver enhancements to teaching, learning and assessment, co-curricular and extra-curricular activity.
You will also have the opportunity to support multiple projects within the Student Life team, focussing on student life, engagement, and partnership activities. Job Description
RESPONSIBLE TO: Student Engagement and Partnership Coordinator
RESPONSIBLE FOR: N/A
PURPOSE OF POST: To support the effective delivery of projects designed to enhance student life, student engagement and partnership. In particular, the role will focus on the development, implementation and appraisal of Student Partnership and Representation activities, including the Student Partnership Agreement, by working with the Student Presidents, and relevant staff across the university and Students’ Union.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Student Experience and Engagement
1. Support the Student Experience and Partnership Manager and Student Engagement and Partnership Coordinator in delivering projects and activities relating to student life, engagement, and partnership.
2. Support the Student Engagement and Partnership Coordinator in the co-ordination of institutional Welcome Week, Freshers, and Connect & Reflect Week activities.
3. Contribute to the planning and delivery of EDI events and activities, as well as awareness raising campaigns, eg, Gender Based Violence, Hate Crime & Harassment, Report & Support platform.
4. Support the ResLife Co-ordinator in the planning and delivery of ResLife events and activities, including through communication with the ResLife Assistant team.
5. Develop and maintain links with relevant internal departments and external organisations to ensure that university and Students’ Union are appropriately informed on matters pertaining to student partnership and student representation.
Student Partnership and Representation
6. Support the Student Experience and Partnership Manager, Student Engagement and Partnership Coordinator and Student Presidents to develop and implement the Student Partnership Agreement, its objective(s) and associated action plans.
7. Track the progress of the development and implementation of the Student Partnership Agreement and its objective(s), supporting the drafting of updates for Student Partnership Group and Student Experience Sub-Committee meetings.
8. Support the Student Experience and Partnership Manager, Student Engagement and Partnership Coordinator and Student Presidents to develop and implement an effective student representation system within academic schools, in liaison with senior members of the staff within schools.
9. Advise and assist the Student Presidents and Students’ Union staff in co-ordinating the recruitment, development and recognition of Student School Officers and Student Representatives in their roles.
10. Collaborate with others to lead training programmes for student representatives to become effective leaders of enhancement, ensuring the student voice is heard and understood appropriately across the university.
General Administration and Other Duties
11. Co-ordinate, organise and administer regular and ad hoc meetings as required by the Student Experience and Partnership team.
12. Monitor email inboxes and manage queries received by the team.
13. Research to inform decision making on areas of enhancement.
14. Gather and present student partnership, representation and engagement data to the Student Experience and Partnership Manager, Student Engagement and Partnership Co-ordinator and Student Presidents.
15. Assure compliance with the University’s policies and procedures.
16. Provide other general administrative support to the Student Engagement and Partnership Coordinator and Student Experience and Partnership Manager as required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
18. Degree in Relevant discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
Knowledge
19. Knowledge of opportunities and challenges that students face within the Higher Education Sector
20. Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office
21. Knowledge of Student representation and/or volunteering structures within Students‘ Unions and Universities
22. Knowledge of the development and delivery of Student Partnership Agreements
Experience
23. Experience of delivering on and presenting project plans
24. Experience of working in a student support or student experience environment
25. Experience of drafting project plans and update reports, as well as articles, blogs and reports for internal audiences.
