Business Officer 8428 | Fixed term contract until 31 March 2026 | £24,790 to £25,183 per annum (Scale D) | 37 hours per week | County Hall, Norwich
Norfolk County Council invites you to be part of our dynamic Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team. We are seeking a Temporary Business Officer to play a vital role in triaging calls to the wider team, processing and completing DoLS applications and authorisations.
Business Support is an essential part of our team. The DoLS Team works closely with care homes, hospitals, members of the public, advocacy organisations, and other Norfolk County Council colleagues. The team is responsible for assessing individuals who lack capacity to consent to their care arrangements.
The Business Officer will assist with processing new referrals into the team, completing administrative tasks, and ensuring the timely processing of new applications. Main responsibilities include working with our other Business Officer, the Teams Assistant Practitioner, and the Senior Business Officer. Tasks involve answering and signposting calls, processing referrals, contacting care homes, and monitoring inboxes. The role requires a team player with working knowledge of Teams, Excel, data entry, and Microsoft Outlook. Multitasking, flexibility, adaptability, a positive attitude, and respect for sensitive data are essential.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the DoLS Team as we develop the service and provide opportunities to learn new skills within a supportive environment. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining remote and office-based work at County Hall. If you are a committed, proactive team player with a 'can do' attitude, we encourage you to apply.
For an informal discussion about this vacancy and job share arrangements, please contact Deborah Parish at 01603 217603 or Daryl Nobbs at 01603 989951.
Interviews are scheduled to take place during the week commencing 14th July.
