What will you be doing?
Joining as a 2nd Line IT Engineer, you’ll provide advanced technical support for escalated issues across a multi-site network. You’ll troubleshoot hardware and software problems, support infrastructure upgrades, mentor 1st line support, and maintain system performance across servers, applications, and networks.
What will you need?
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support, ideally in a second-line role
* Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
* Hands-on experience with Active Directory, including Azure AD
* Solid understanding of core networking protocols – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and VLANs
* Practical knowledge of Cisco Meraki for switches, firewalls, and wireless networks
* Familiarity with virtualisation technologies, especially Hyper-V
* Confident using ITSM tools (such as Atera or Jamf) to manage and resolve support tickets
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused attitude
* Full UK driving license with flexibility to travel to other UK sites when needed
What would be desirable?
* Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified)
* Exposure to SimPro
* Previous experience mentoring or training junior IT staff
