About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to support our TUKI team as a Learning & Development Manager based in London, UK. The Learning & Development Manager will be crucial in the innovative design, delivery and driving of L&D initiatives within the business unit and wider business strategic plan. Through building engaging and interactive learning activities, the Learning & Development Manager will support field teams (Business Developers, SMO Field teams), HQ teams through to other Subway stakeholders in developing the skills and behaviors needed to maximize performance within the QSR market. The role will bring learning, training, and professional development to all learners within the Region through Instructure Lead Training (ILT), Virtual Instructure Lead Training (VILT), e-learning content and other suitable delivery methods.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Ensure the design, build, test, and delivery of quality and engaging, professional learning solutions, courses, and workshops to meet the business, and brand objectives. Working closely with the Snr L&D Regional Manager and subject matter experts to identify the target audiences’ training needs and desired learning output. Work with subject-matter experts from various departments and/or conduct other research to design and create engaging learning activities and compelling course content. Regionalize and localize materials as appropriate (travel to stores/locations maybe required for assets) to meet operational standards in the market with approval from Worldwide Training management. As part of BAU, stay current on changes to curriculum, products, policies, and procedures and incorporate into the design of existing courses.
2. Curate and maintain all L&D materials; project documentation, design assets and course folders (LMS/Design folders). Edit and update existing training materials to apply modern design principles, relevant content, and current brand standards. Work closely with the Snr L&D Regional Manager and Learning Experience Facilitators to communicate and discuss amendments or scheduled course maintenance updates.
3. Monitoring how effectively learning has been transferred. Continually re-evaluate the learning offer in the pursuit of ‘better’ across the learner journey - measure participant engagement through scoring, grades / results, surveys, and system analytics (LMS). Provide feedback and create reporting channels on performance issues, communicate concerns, and escalate as appropriate to Snr L&D Regional Manager. Assist with reporting requests.
4. Create an environment that sets the tone of the Learning and Development brand. Role model positive behaviors at all times, with all student interactions. Deal with all questions and answers in a professional and organized way. Monitor and respond to different learning styles including full class involvement and appropriate accommodations for diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Work diligently to create a learning environment where attendees want to learn and participate, as measured by survey comments and results.
5. Deliver instructor led training either virtually (VILT) or in classroom (ILT). As and when needed, facilitate or present core course offerings using Adult Learning techniques creating a memorable and engaging learning experience that will drive behavioral change and develop excellent leaders.
6. Provide support and coaching as SME for learning design and delivery to LEFs executing learning initiatives. The resulting product of a learning initiative must be a best in industry experience for learners within Subway. Support the Field Trainers within the SMO farmwork to understand, utilize and cascade training within their regions. Provide data and insights into training initiatives Online + offline to help focus LEF and Field trainers on opportunities.
7. Assist Snr L&D Regional manager on developing innovative programs that sit externally from the core offer. Support development and communications for end to end of the new program.
8. Provide excellent customer service to Franchisees, Filed Teams, and HQ teams. Develop strong working relationships to effect positive change and enhance the reputation of SUBWAY and the Learning and Development Department.
9. Apply designated training programs to develop new skills. Participate in all scheduled training classes, including Conference calls. Available to travel on an occasional basis to other training centers, field meetings, conventions, and/or staff meetings.
10. Proactively identify opportunities for L&D to support technology, marketing and operations initiatives and deliver on the opportunity via and L&D Interaction.
Qualifications (some examples listed below):
11. Bachelor’s Degree in Learning & Development
12. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an education, training, sales, and/or industry related experience (industry Hospitality / retail preferred)
13. Technical Proficiencies: Microsoft Office 365 Skills incl. Excel, Word, PowerPoint
14. Additional Programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier, Adobe Audition, Adobe After Effects, Articulate 360, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher etc.
15. Able to multi-task, prioritize workload and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
16. Strong communication skills, detail oriented
17. Deep level of understanding of learning models: Adult learning methodologies, including the use of integrative technology
18. Embrace the use of technology to maximize the L&D offering to the business, driving efficiency, flexibility, employee engagement and positive experiences as much as possible.
19. Exhibits and role models a growth mindset. Creative and open minded towards innovation and new ways of doing things. Comfortable to try things quickly and fail on occasion.
20. Effective communication skills. Confident in communicating with many different people from differing backgrounds.

22. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to impactfully share subject materials to larger groups, either face to face or video.
23. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work. Able to work independently and take the initiative to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
24. Sound knowledge and confidence with LMS/LXP platforms
25. Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills with a self-motivated attitude to work.
26. Language requirements: Fluent in English – any additional language a plus.
