A MISSION OF COMPASSION PIONEERING END-OF-LIFE CARE
According to the charity's website, in the heart of West Sussex and East Surrey, a local charity with an expansive vision is making a profound impact on how communities approach the most challenging moments in life—death and bereavement. For over 40 years, this hospice has been a beacon of hope, offering not just medical care but also emotional and psychological support to individuals facing life-limiting conditions. The charity’s mission is clear: to ensure that everyone can face death informed, supported, and pain-free.
Helping by Volunteering
The ward management team, overseeing two busy wards, is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Stockroom & Delivery Assistant to support the Ward Coordinator. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth organization and sorting of essential medical and non-medical supplies, directly impacting the quality of care provided to patients. The volunteer will assist with stock control, prepare orders, receive and check deliveries, and ensure that supplies are properly distributed throughout the inpatient unit. The role also involves maintaining tidy supply cupboards, addressing any issues with the Ward Coordinator, and upholding the hospice’s Volunteering Code of Conduct. Volunteers will be expected to commit to two to three hours twice a week, either on Monday or Tuesday mornings and Friday mornings, and to attend relevant meetings and training sessions, acting as an ambassador for the hospice.
