Milk Education are delighted to be working with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees to recruit a dedicated English Teacher for a long-term temporary position. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to be extended into the next academic year for the right candidate.
You will deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons across Key Stages (KS3 and KS4, KS5 desirable), fostering a love for literature and language while supporting students to achieve their full academic potential. This is a full teaching role, including planning, marking, assessment, and involvement in the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
2. Teach a range of texts, developing students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills
3. Assess, track, and report on student progress
4. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
5. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
6. Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school activities
Requirements:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school
9. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
10. Passion for English and the ability to engage and motivate students
11. Commitment to supporting student progress and attainment
