Job Description
AW Construction is a Folkestone-based commercial construction company delivering a broad range of projects across the South East. We specialise in strip out, refurbishment and fit-out works for clients including light industrial units, shopping centres, universities and housing associations.
Our projects typically range in value from £25,000 to £2 million.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, based at our Folkestone office.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing day-to-day commercial and contractual activities on commercial construction projects
* Pricing variations, preparing valuations and negotiating with clients and subcontractors
* Placing subcontract orders and managing subcontractor accounts
* Preparing interim valuations and final accounts
* Producing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
* Attending site meetings as required, including occasional meetings in London
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the commercial construction sector
* Proven experience working on refurbishment, fit-out or strip-out projects
* Strong, broad construction knowledge
* Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
* Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
* Good level of Maths, English and IT skills
* Full UK driving licence
This role would suit a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to work on a varied portfolio of projects within a well-established and growing construction company.
