About the role
The Justice Health and Wellbeing Services Branch provides a comprehensive range of primary health care; mental health care; alcohol and other drug services; psychological, prevention and wellbeing services; pharmacy services; allied health care and tertiary care referral services. With entry to prison marking the first opportunity for many of our patients and clients to receive health and wellbeing assistance, our Service acts as a crucial intervention point for a population with complex physical, mental and social needs. The Justice Health and Wellbeing Services Branch ensures that clinical effectiveness, consumer focus and quality improvement are embedded to assist DCS provide high quality, cost effective, safe and patient centred care.
As a Medical Bookings Officer, you will help ensure that patients in custody receive timely access to essential external health services by coordinating and scheduling external health appointments, liaising with Public Hospitals, Adult Custodial, Prisoner Movements agencies, Justice Health and Wellbeing Services Branch and other agencies as required.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
