The Role:
The Learning & Development Coach is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing strategic learning and development initiatives that enhance individual and organisational capability across the UK Distribution channel. This role ensures alignment with regulatory requirements, strategic business goals, and talent development strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Learning Leadership
1. Develop and execute a learning capability strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory standards.
2. Lead the design and delivery of learning programs that support technical upskilling, risk management, compliance, leadership development, and soft skills development.
3. Collaborate with senior leaders to identify capability gaps and future skill needs.
Program Design & Delivery
4. Create and manage scalable learning solutions using blended methodologies (workshops, coaching, e-learning, etc.).
5. Oversee the development of content that supports sales proposition delivery competencies, including product & proposition knowledge, advice process knowledge, and good marketplace understanding.
6. Ensure learning programs are inclusive, accessible, and tailored to diverse learning styles.
Stakeholder Engagement
7. Partner with HR, compliance, and sales unit leaders to embed learning into performance and talent management processes.
8. Manage relationships with external training providers and regulatory bodies to ensure quality and compliance.
9. Act as a trusted advisor on learning strategy and capability development.
Technology & Innovation
10. Leverage learning management systems and digital tools to enhance learner experience and track progress.
11. Stay abreast of emerging trends in financial services marketplace, learning technology and integrate innovative solutions where appropriate.
Measurement & Evaluation
12. Define and monitor KPIs for learning initiatives (e.g., engagement, completion rates, performance improvement opportunities).
13. Use data analytics to assess learning impact and ROI, and report findings to senior stakeholders.
14. Continuously improve programs based on feedback, strategic goals and performance metrics.
Accountabilities:
15. Capability Development: Ensure the UK Distribution channel is equipped with the skills and knowledge required to meet current and future business needs.
16. Compliance & Risk: Ensure all learning initiatives meet financial services regulatory standards and support Plc risk mitigation.
17. Performance Enablement: Drive a culture of continuous learning that supports employee growth and increased business performance.
18. Budget Management: Manage the learning budget effectively, ensuring cost-efficiency and value delivery.
19. Team Leadership: Fostering collaboration and innovation across the channel when developing and delivering capability development.
Qualifications & Experience:
20. Expertise in instructional design, adult learning theory, and digital learning platforms.
21. Proven experience in learning and development within financial services or a regulated industry.
22. Strong understanding of financial services operations, compliance, and risk frameworks.
23. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project leadership skills.
24. Analytical mindset with experience in learning impact measurement and reporting.
