This full-time role is ideally suited for individuals with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. About the Role: As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide targeted support to students with behavioural and emotional challenges. Your presence will help pupils access learning in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Job Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Assist in implementing tailored strategies to manage behaviour positively. Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and confidence. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and outside agencies. Help to maintain a nurturing classroom environment that encourages engagement and progress. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils. Job Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural difficulties, or similar needs. A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to behaviour management. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and de-escalation techniques is advantageous. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
