Supporting the Transport Manager where necessary and leading the department in their absence. Responsible for ensuring that the operation runs smoothly and efficiently and leading the effective management of driver colleagues.
Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Daily management of health, safety and colleague wellbeingFollow Company Health and Safety polices & investigate and report accidents/incidents whilst on shiftLead and develop a team of Assistant Shift Managers and DriversLead a busy shift ensuring operational compliance and customer satisfactionAchieve department KPI’s set by the businessProblem solving, overcoming obstacles that arise during the shiftMaintain professionalism, and promote a positive and respectful working culture when interacting with colleagues and business departments Ensure all colleagues follow Company policies and procedures to ensure complianceEnsure all legal compliance is adhered toMonitor and control finances within the departmentDrive business standards, ensuring headcount achieves customer demands and deliver on objectives set by the businessBe familiar with all aspects of legislation relating to commercial vehicles including tachograph and Driver’s hours regulationsAnalyse systems and data to effectively to determine root causes Monitor depot temperature control systemCPC qualificationTachomaster and Microlise experienceOffice and administrative experience at management levelA high degree of confidentiality, accuracy & effective communicationThe ability to lead an effective teamHave the technical capability around systems and process flowsIntermediate level of all Microsoft packagesAbility to build effective relationships within & across departmentsHigh level of problem solvingClosing Date:29th June 2026Department:SupervisorHours:48 hours per weekLocation:HoddesdonReference Number:booker/TP/246930/31047Salary:Competitive
