Job Description - Commis Chef
Full Time – 40 hours
Salary - £26,000 per annum
Cycas Hospitality is seeking a Commis Chef to join our team in London, Greater London, United Kingdom. This position is pivotal to our success, and we are committed to providing a competitive package that reflects the candidate's skills and responsibilities.
Job Scope
* Under the direction of the Head Chef or the Sous Chef, prepare and serve a range of menu items that meet customers’ expectations. Promote the desired work culture around our company culture.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation, presentation, decoration, and menu dishes including meat dishes and marinades, fish and shellfish, garnishing techniques, pastry, cakes, yeast goods, petit fours, desserts, regional dishes, buffet food.
* Communicate any difficulties or relevant information to superiors.
* Attend daily briefings and meetings.
* Prepare food, materials, and equipment in advance for service.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
Customer Service
* Demonstrate service attributes such as attentiveness, promptness, understanding guest needs, and exceeding expectations.
* Resolve guest complaints effectively.
* Promote hotel products and services.
* Maintain high product and service knowledge about all Cycas Hospitality hotels and the Marriott hotel group in your region.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a hotel environment.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to work in shifts.
* Understanding of hotel standards, products, and services.
