Job summary

At the forefront of the fight to safeguard Britain's energy infrastructure against climate change and extreme weather, Ofgem is strengthening the resilience of the systems that power our homes, businesses and communities. We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer – Climate Resilience to join us and help shape the technical and regulatory foundations of a secure, low-carbon energy system fit for the future.

Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people.

With an excellent benefits package and opportunities for flexible and hybrid working, we're offering a permanent opportunity within our Infrastructure – Engineering & Technology Directorate, positioned at the heart of our Climate Resilience programme. This is a unique chance to combine your engineering expertise with policy influence, ensuring that climate adaptation and resilience are embedded into the regulation of energy networks.

Working closely with our Climate Resilience team, you'll provide expert technical insight that informs regulatory and strategic decision-making. You'll engage with senior leaders, government, industry and academia, contributing to high-profile workstreams that influence the direction of national resilience planning.

You'll operate across engineering and policy boundaries, applying robust analysis to support regulatory choices and strategic priorities. From shaping thinking on transmission and distribution resilience to contributing to wider climate adaptation cycles and research, your expertise will help ensure that resilience measures are effective, proportionate and grounded in sound engineering judgement.
