Role and Responsibilities
* Motivate and lead the shop team, creating a safe and energised work environment with high standards and a strong drive to achieve results.
* Be commercially aware and look for new business opportunities; support retail processes and strong merchandising.
* Work collaboratively with the Shop Manager to build positive relationships with colleagues, provide excellent customer service, engage with the local community and other civil society organisations.
* Demonstrate resilience to everyday pressures, manage conflicting demands, and seek appropriate support, advice and guidance when needed.
* Be numerate and financially literate, able to interpret basic financial reports, monitor budgets and maintain shop administrative systems.
* Be comfortable in a volunteer operating model, where volunteers may take on many tasks and stand in for the manager when needed.
Qualifications and Key Skills
* Ability to support development and maintenance of a successful, inclusive and diverse team capable of maintaining day-to-day shop activities.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to support effective retail processes and strong merchandising.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers and the local community.
* Capacity to handle everyday pressures and seek support when required.
* Numerate and financially literate, able to interpret basic financial reports and monitor budgets.
