Production Manager
Overview
A client of ours are currently seeking an experienced, Production Manager to lead shop-floor operations within a manufacturing environment. This role suits a practical, motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced production setting and is comfortable leading by example.
This is not a desk-based position. The successful candidate will be actively involved in day-to-day production, supporting the team, resolving issues in real time, and driving performance on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and drive daily production operations to achieve productivity, quality, and delivery objectives.
* Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, actively contributing to production and leading by example.
* Prepare accurate job quotations and effectively schedule work to balance capacity and demand.
* Develop, coach, and engage production personnel to build a capable and motivated team.
* Monitor operations to identify inefficiencies or issues and introduce practical improvements.
* Uphold all quality, health & safety, and environmental standards across the production area.
* Work closely with senior management to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
About You
* Demonstrated experience leading production teams in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
* Solid hands-on workshop background with the ability to diagnose and resolve production challenges.
* Strong leadership capability with a people‑first management style.
* Proactive and practical approach, with a willingness to be involved in all aspects of production.
* Resilient under pressure, with the ability to manage priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
* Adaptable, pragmatic, and focused on finding workable solutions.
* Effective communicator with strong planning and organisational skills.
