About The Role:


Working Days: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Role Overview

The Director of Tower Painting is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of tower painting operations across the power transmission and distribution network. This includes strategic planning, safety compliance, project execution, contractor management, and quality assurance. The role ensures that all tower painting activities support the integrity, reliability, and longevity of transmission infrastructure while meeting environmental and regulatory standards.

Functional Tasks & Responsibilities

Retain Grow Gain:

*
o Develop and implement long-term tower painting strategies aligned with asset management and grid reliability goals.
* Be accountable for work winning, working with the Sales and Commercial teams

Financial

*
o Lead budgeting and forecasting for tower painting programs across multiple regions. Working with the Finance and Commercial team
* Delivery of the P&L to budget

Operational Accountability:

*
o Manage the scheduling, execution, and inspection of tower painting projects.
* Ensure compliance to Client safety rules and systems
* Ensure compliance with relevant people authorisations and training requirements.
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NACE, ISO).
* Oversee surface preparation, coating application, and corrosion control measures.

Team & Contractor Management:

*
o Lead a team of project managers, engineers, and field supervisors.
* Select, onboard, and manage third-party contractors and vendors.
* Conduct performance reviews and ensure continuous improvement.

Quality & Compliance:

*
o Establish and monitor KPIs for quality, safety, and productivity.
* Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including hazardous material handling and waste disposal.
* Maintain documentation and reporting for audits and regulatory reviews.

Stakeholder Engagement:

*
o Collaborate with asset management, engineering, and operations teams.
* Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
* Lead on customer relationship management.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience

* 10+ years of experience in transmission infrastructure or industrial coatings, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of corrosion protection, coating systems, and surface preparation techniques.
* Familiarity with industry standards such as NACE, SSPC, and ANSI.
* Proven track record in managing large-scale field operations and contractor networks.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Education & Certification

Although not an absolute requirement, it would be preferable for the candidate to have some of the following, or similar qualifications.:

* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
* Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
* Health & Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS) are an advantage.
