The Design Coordinator Role:
A well-established residential builder based in Leeds has an exciting opportunity for a Design Coordinator to join their Yorkshire team, working on townhouse and apartment developments delivered in collaboration with Registered Providers and local authorities.
The role will suit someone with strong knowledge of Passive House and low-energy residential design, who is comfortable coordinating design across multiple live schemes. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will manage the design process from planning through to construction and handover, ensuring compliance with Passive House principles, building regulations and client requirements.
You will work closely with external consultants, specialist designers, internal delivery teams and site teams to resolve design queries, manage information flow and support efficient project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating design on residential projects, ideally townhouses and apartment schemes. Experience working for a main contractor on similar developments would be beneficial but is not essential.
To be considered for the Design Coordinator position:
1. Experience coordinating design on residential townhouse and/or apartment projects
2. Strong knowledge of Passive House standards, fabric-first design and low-energy construction
3. Background with a contractor, developer or design practice
4. Degree or HNC/HND qualified in construction, architecture or a related discipline
5. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Design Coordinator or similar role
