Overview

Responsibilities
* Development of construction methods, in collaboration with production teams
* Development of construction sequence
* Development of site installation in accordance with the construction sequence
* Provide safe, practical and economic designs of temporary works in accordance with company procedures, the British and European codes of practice and UK construction Health and Safety legislation
* Temporary works allowing reinforcement pre-fabrication, transportation and lifting (lifting beams, temporary supports, accesses, working platforms)
* Prepare conceptual and detailed designs including calculations, design risk assessments and sketches / drawings / models as appropriate
* Understand the practicalities of the erection, use and dismantle of temporary works
* Ensure technical issues are resolved in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures
* Liaise with project teams with respect to their design requirements
* Coordinate design work with external designers
Minimum qualifications
* BEng / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
Ideal candidate will have the following skills
* Experience in Temporary Works designs
* Hands on experience with BS 5975 / or Similar Eurocode
* Experience in the design of formwork, falsework and access scaffolding
* Experience in the design of bespoke shutters (steel or timber)
* Experience with codes of practice for concrete and steel work design (EN & BS codes)
* Computer skills required: Office suite, Autocad 2D. Preferred but not essential previous knowledge of Autocad 3D, Naviswork, Tekla Structures, Static beam analysis software and Robot structural.

All positions with BYLOR are employed directly with either Laing O’Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Some grades will also include a company car allowance.
