We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our team in Skelmersdale on a full-time, permanent basis.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the successful and timely delivery of all assigned design engineering work.
* Maintain high-quality engineering output.
* Follow defined company processes and standards.
* Focus on customer satisfaction through quality work delivery.
* Support business efforts in securing new work.
* Improve product design methods and procedures.
Main Duties
* Assist the Engineering Team Manager in providing design engineering support across the Business Group and CRP as needed.
* Perform daily design engineering activities.
* Design products in accordance with customer requirements, company practices, and recognized standards.
* Develop technical presentations for internal or external use.
* Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and documentation.
* Provide technical support for products related to Business Group activities.
* Support production plant and equipment technical needs if required.
* Communicate technical data effectively to customers and subcontractors.
* Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations as necessary.
* Participate in company-wide improvement initiatives.
* Perform other activities as directed by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Work logically and analytically; champion procurement and related processes.
* Manage multiple projects efficiently with minimal supervision.
* Set realistic timescales in collaboration with sales and project teams.
* Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
* Build strong working relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
* Support and mentor less experienced engineers.
* Apply relevant technical and HSE standards effectively.
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (BEng (Hons), MEng (Hons), or equivalent).
Experience
* Experience working across cultural boundaries.
* Effective internal and external communication skills.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects.
* Experience conducting analytical calculations.
