Base salary circa £85,000 plus bonus and benefits
This Head of Marketing role is a mix of B2B and B2C marketing, and it includes a huge element of trade marketing for products. We are looking for a marketer with hands‑on experience in a product environment, selling through wholesalers/trade and retailers as well as B2C via eCommerce.
Our client is looking for a Head of Marketing with extensive tactical experience in a product‑based environment, with a wealth of experience delivering at pace and to a high standard across POS, packaging, category management and product launches. Whilst this is a senior leadership role and you'll be involved in shaping the marketing strategy and planning to align with the company's objectives, we're looking for someone who's hands on with a wealth of product marketing experience.
As the marketing lead, you will have accountability for overseeing the full marketing mix across strategic planning, market research & analysis, marketing communications, digital marketing and most importantly product marketing. This role has great breadth and is ideally suited for a Head of Marketing looking to work in a company on a positive growth trajectory and has a hunger to make a positive change and takes great joy from building a high performing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Accountability for end‑to‑end new product launch marketing strategy, including the successful delivery of campaigns and activities across digital and traditional marketing
* Collaborate with the eCommerce and Product teams to help define and establish product marketing strategies behind new product launches and marketing initiatives across B2B and B2C channels
* Oversee and own the business brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and continuity of message across all channels, developing strategies and processes to generate increased brand awareness as well as the delivery for all branded content: POS material, merchandise, in‑store promotional activity and products
* Take responsibility for the design, performance and continuous improvement of all digital/web platforms/assets to establish an ever‑increasing online presence
* Develop, implement and manage online marketing strategies to promote products using various digital channels, to capitalise on e‑commerce opportunities, driving conversions to achieve business goals
* Lead and direct B2B marketing activities across website, SEO, marketing assets, paid media and CRM
* Lead and direct B2C marketing activities including digital marketing activities including content & video
* Create marketing KPIs and provide monthly reporting to track progress in meeting strategic goals
* Analysis of marketing data and reporting of trends, producing insight reports and feeding back strategic information for capitalising on opportunities
Key Skills Required
* Proven experience as Head of Marketing within a product environment client‑side or within a marketing agency with experience of working on accounts for DIY/builders merchants, automotive parts, plumbing, tools etc
* Demonstrable experience of building and executing a marketing strategy that positively impacts awareness and growth in both B2B and B2C environments
* A blend of experience and knowledge across both digital and traditional marketing
* A relevant degree‑level qualification, supported by a professional qualification like Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), or similar
* A commercial mindset, a "can do" attitude and an appetite to take on responsibility, grow a team and solve problems
* A ‘hands on’ and practical approach, acting strategically whilst leading and directing on execution and implementation
* A proven record of accomplishment of building and developing high performing marketing teams within growing businesses
