Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining customer relationships, and driving the growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and nurture relationships with customers.
2. Act as the main point of contact between these customers and SGS.
3. Carry out quarterly, half yearly, annual reviews with each customer.
4. Understand and document each customers business needs and goals.
5. Document, and implement an account development plan for each customer.
6. To include account retention, and growth strategies, unique and tailored to each customer.
7. Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell services.
8. Aligning SGS offers with customers objectives.
9. To ensure SGS is considered by customers to be a critical supplier and partner.
Qualifications
Essential
10. Sales qualification, or time served to demonstrate experience
11. Full clean driving licence for use in the UK
12. Significant experience in a highly technical B2B environment.
13. Experience working in an environment aligned to the technical aspects of this role.
14. Experience working successfully within a performance measured CRM based sales environment.
15. In depth understanding of the market or a similar transferrable market sector.
16. Strong sales focus with a drive to succeed identifying and securing new business.
17. Able to report objectively and regularly on opportunities and individual performance via CRM.
18. Knowledge of IT systems, particularly MS Office applications and CRM Systems.
Desirable
19. Understanding of market drivers in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector.
20. Experience with budgeting and sales forecasting
21. Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific, technical, engineering discipline
22. Project Management qualification such as Prince2, Six Sigma, CAPM, PMP
23. Customer Service qualification such as NVQ, Practitioner, Institute of Customer Service
