Role Details
This role operates primarily on a remote working arrangement that will require occasional travel to one of our Campus locations (Birmingham, Leeds, London, and Manchester). There will also be some occasional evening work and up to 8 weekends per year for teaching on the LLM programme. These arrangements are non-contractual benefits included in our employment contracts.
About Our Department
The Law Department is part of the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Law, and is a collaborative, supportive academic community. We are a small but friendly team working across campuses and online. Our programs are designed to be accessible and flexible for busy learners, emphasizing innovative and supportive education.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
* Design engaging digital teaching materials for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, ensuring alignment with learning objectives.
* Manage your own teaching activities, reflecting on and developing your skills.
* Undertake administrative tasks supporting teaching and learning.
* Contribute actively to departmental activities.
About You
We seek an innovative, motivated, and professional individual experienced in creating high-quality digital learning materials and committed to providing an excellent educational environment.
Minimum Qualifications
* Postgraduate qualification in English Law.
* Understanding of the Qualifying Law Degree, SQE, and industry issues.
* Experience in teaching, assessment, and learning practices in Higher Education.
* Proven ability to contribute to program teams and inspire students.
* Capability to teach foundational legal knowledge or SQE curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications
* PhD in Law and/or legal practice experience (desirable but not essential).
* FHEA or equivalent teaching qualification preferred; support available for obtaining HE teaching qualifications and fellowships.
