Elnecot is on the lookout for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen team as we approach our 9th year in the heart of Ancoats.
We're an independent restaurant with a strong reputation for seasonal, thoughtful cooking. Our menu is a celebration of some of the best local and sustainable ingredients, and we collaborate closely with a network of exceptional producers and suppliers. We're looking for someone who shares our values and can help take Elnecot into its next chapter.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire our hardworking, friendly kitchen team, continuing a culture of creativity, consistency, and respect
* Design and deliver seasonal menus in collaboration with the Chef Patron and wider team
* Manage daily kitchen operations, including prep, service, and closing procedures
* Oversee ordering, supplier relationships, stock control, and waste reduction
* Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management
* Monitor kitchen GP, portion control, and labour costs in line with business targets
* Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing team
* Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver a cohesive guest experience and support events
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef experience in a quality, seasonal restaurant - references will be required
* A deep knowledge and passion for British, seasonal cooking
* Confidence in menu development, costing, and managing kitchen GP
* Leadership skills that balance creativity with structure and accountability
* A positive, collaborative approach with strong communication across teams
* Solid understanding of food safety legislation, allergen procedures, and EHO compliance
* Business-minded with a hands-on approach and a desire to drive the restaurant forward
