The Infection Prevention and control Matron will work with the associate director for IPC: (full Job description attached) 1.1 Clinical/Managerial Responsibilities 1.1.1 To implement and lead a programme for the prevention, investigation, surveillance, and control of infection in collaboration with the Associate director of IPC, ensuring that correct policies and governance processes are followed. 1.1.2 To undertake a regular review of the Trusts infection control policies, updating as required and ensuring that relevant changes are communicated and implemented within the Trust. 1.1.3 To agree standards of practice and forms of monitoring through policy development, implementation, monitoring and practice observation. 1.1.4 Have a current understanding of common infection control management and demonstrates capability to respond to rapidly changing clinical scenarios and emerging clinical knowledge. 1.1.5 To provide advice to Trust staff when outbreaks and incidents occur and facilitate outbreak meetings for the team/ward involved. 1.1.6 To document outbreak meetings, keep a log of outbreak calls and face to face contacts, including recording the advice given.
