About the Role:
As a Housing Options Officer, you'll play a vital role in helping individuals and families in South Gloucestershire secure safe and suitable housing. Under the guidance of the Housing Advice and Options Team Manager, you will conduct thorough housing options assessments and work diligently to prevent homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out housing options assessments with households in need, ensuring that all needs, preferences, and options are considered.
Assist customers in preventing homelessness and securing alternative housing solutions.
Evaluate complex cases involving tenure rights, financial assessments, and social needs.
Maintain effective communication with applicants, representatives, and other agencies.
Stay vigilant regarding safeguarding issues and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.What We're Looking For:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
A relevant professional qualification (e.g., HND/HNC in Housing or NVQ Level 4) or equivalent experience in housing and homelessness legislation.
Strong communication and negotiating skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in housing options assessment, advice, and assistance, with a clear understanding of safeguarding issues.
Proficiency in IT, including databases and spreadsheets, to monitor budgets and manage records effectively.
