Job Overview
Kingston Midstream is currently seeking a Crude Quality Technician to join our collaborative and dynamic Operations team out of Cromer, MB. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Quality Foreman/Lead and will assist in executing a crude quality program by learning new technologies pertaining to crude quality specifications, maintaining monitoring equipment, and performing daily field sampling and analysis of crude oil products in accordance with industry-standard protocols.
Position Responsibilities
 * Collect, test, document, analyze and report on Kingston’s crude oil products
 * Consistently monitor/troubleshoot changes in product quality and document/report accordingly
 * Handle samples safely while collecting, shipping or performing analysis
 * Monitor and resolve issues related to analytical equipment performance, ensure regular maintenance and operational accuracy
 * Available for callouts to respond to failures or malfunction of analytical equipment
 * Knowledge of API, ASTM, Internal and regulatory standards (Dir.17)
 * Perform relief meter proving duties as needed
 * Participate in and successfully complete all required technical and safety training
Working Conditions
 * The primary conditions consist of laboratory work, inside measurement buildings and outside in varying weather conditions
 * Work schedule is 10 on ? 4 off, with rotational on call
 * The successful candidate is required to live within a 50 KM radius of Cromer, MB
 * Able to perform physical demanding duties including but not limited to repetitive bending, standing, crouching, sitting, and lifting over 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
 * Conduct field, laboratory and office duties in designated restricted and potentially hazardous areas
Skills and Qualifications
 * High school diploma or equivalent
 * Post-secondary education, technical diploma or previous quality experience would be considered an asset
 * Previous work experience with machines, analyzers, electrical equipment and laboratory equipment would be considered an asset
 * Attention to detail, troubleshooting, problem solving and safety conscious
 * Effective verbal and written communication skills
 * Strong team player and able work with minimal supervision
