Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing engineering and fabrication organisation based in North Wales, who are seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance to join the team on an initial 12-18 month maternity cover contract. This is a hands-on role where you will report directly to the business owners/managing directors, while also managing a Finance Administrator. The position has a strong focus on payroll, cashflow management, budgeting and forecasting, alongside overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance function. Salary/benefits: * Competitive salary (dependent on experience) * 12-18 month contract * 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays * Company pension scheme * On-site parking Job Duties: * Produce monthly management accounts and reporting packs, including variance analysis * Lead on payroll, ensuring accuracy and HMRC compliance * Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital * Prepare budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and financial plans * Deliver monthly revenue forecasts and quarterly board packs * Complete month-end postings and manage the month-end close * Oversee year-end close and liaise with external accountants for statutory accounts * Submit quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance * Approve supplier payments and oversee reconciliations * Provide ad hoc commercial analysis to support decision-making * Manage and develop a Finance Administrator Who will I report in to? * Business Owner / Managing Director When will interviews be taking place? * Interviews will be happening as soon as possible Ideal experience: * Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA or QBE) with SME finance experience * Proven track record in payroll, cashflow management, budgeting, and forecasting * Strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial acumen * Experience using accounting systems (Xero desirable) * Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with business owners
