Overview
The Environment Agency are looking for an experienced investigator to join our National Investigations Team as a Senior Environmental Crime Officer. You will work with Senior Investigation Managers and the Major Incident Room to lead investigations into serious and complex environmental crimes, coordinating all aspects from lines of enquiry to casefile preparation and prosecution.

Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate major environmental crime investigations, including identifying lines of enquiry, reviewing intelligence, raising and allocating actions, coordinating evidence gathering and interviews, and preparing casefiles for prosecution.
* Work with Partnership Organisations and develop investigative teams and complex investigations.
* Collaborate with the National Environmental Crime Unit to drive investigations forward and contribute to team development.
* Respond to incidents as part of the incident role, including business continuity support during incidents.
Experience and Skills
* Strong investigative background with attention to detail; self-motivated and capable of working independently.
* In-depth knowledge of investigative legislation such as PACE and CPIA.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and basic IT competency (Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams).
* Knowledge of environmental crime, leading serious criminal investigations, and workings of a Major Incident Room desirable.
* Experience in driving, initiative, building and developing investigation teams, and leading complex investigations.
* Successful completion of SC and NPPV2 vetting within a 6-month probationary period; a full driving licence is required.
Requirements and Conditions
* Hybrid working with flexibility to work from home and an Environment Agency office; frequent travel to meetings and operational duties.
* Respond to incidents as part of the role; incident duties may require availability for incidents and potential additional training/workplace adjustments.
