Job Purpose
The Heating Engineer / Heat Pump Installer role requires an experienced professional capable of delivering high-quality plumbing work with attention to detail and project context. Candidates should understand zone-controlled systems in larger domestic properties and have a solid grasp of heat pump technology. Basic electrical knowledge is also essential, although support will be provided by technical staff. This role offers opportunities for ongoing learning and career advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the installation team under supervision of installation supervisors.
2. Coordinate with project managers to plan equipment, tools, parts, and timelines prior to site visits.
3. Manage on-site mechanical work according to designs and timelines, with variations approved by project managers.
4. Ensure site safety, cleanliness, proper testing, and complete relevant paperwork, returning it to the office.
5. Inform project managers and stakeholders of installation progress and issues.
6. Escalate on-site issues to the Project Manager, Field Technical Director, or Operations Director when necessary.
7. Undertake training in the company's working methods to deliver high-quality renewable energy installations.
8. Perform tasks such as pipe fitting, lagging, testing, filling, and heat pump installation across various properties.
9. Assist with groundwork tasks like GSHP manifolds as needed.
10. Use copper and HDPE pipes of various sizes (15mm-240mm) in installations.
