Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a primary school based in Wigan who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of learning needs, both in the classroom and during activities.
* Assist with the delivery of differentiated lessons and support the class teacher in meeting the individual needs of students.
* Help children to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills, encouraging positive behaviours and attitudes.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other support staff to create effective learning plans.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported.
* Contribute to the overall well-being and safeguarding of students, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment.
The ideal candidate:
* Has a genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
* Holds a relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or has equivalent experience.
* Has a good understanding of how to support children with additional learning needs, including those with autism, dyslexia, and other special educational needs (SEN).
* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Is patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a strong commitment to making a positive difference in children’s lives.
* Experience in a primary school setting is desirable, but not essential.
