Overview
Project Engineer sought to support Victrex's Capital Programme, delivering multi-million-pound investments in cutting-edge production plants, building projects, and site upgrades. The role involves project management, engineering design, constructability reviews, procurement, construction oversight, planning and expediting, cost control, and stakeholder engagement across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
* Project Management: Own and deliver projects under £1m with minimal senior intervention.
* Engineering Design: Manage detailed design to meet project plans; ensure efficient use of resources and effective design reviews. Assist with Front End Engineering Design and cost estimation for project sanction packages.
* Constructability Reviews: Chair layout and constructability sessions with auditable team involvement.
* Procurement: Conduct technical reviews of vendor quotations and provide clear recommendations.
* Construction Oversight: Ensure safe, effective construction; act as Victrex contact for contractors; maintain zero reportable incidents.
* Planning & Expediting: Drive EPC programme, identify slippages, and implement corrective actions for timely completion.
* Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs; prevent overruns and keep orders within budget.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Production, SHE, Technology, Commercial, and Finance teams across Hillhouse, Rotherham, and Seal Sands sites.
Experience & Qualifications
* Experience: Hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing or other similar industries with strong contractor collaboration skills; ability to challenge the status quo. * Qualifications: Relevant Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical/Control/Instrument engineering with professional membership of an Engineering Institution (Essential).
* Chartered Engineer (Desirable).
