Overview
As a Care Worker with Housing 21 you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team as you work together to support our residents. Once you’re at work that’s it – no travelling between calls as residents live independently in their own apartments within our schemes, which also offer communal lounges, gardens, cafés/bistros and hair salons for them to enjoy. Working with familiar residents and colleagues every day, you’ll build strong relationships and feel part of the Extra Care family.
Responsibilities
* Support with household and domestic tasks, such as laundry, shopping, cleaning, and financial transactions such as paying bills.
* Make meals, drinks and snacks where necessary.
* Encourage and enable residents to follow agreed care plans.
* Assist residents with getting up in the morning, provide personal care including washing/bathing and dressing; help with undressing and going to bed in the evening, and ensure medication is taken as required.
* Put resident wellbeing at the heart of the service, going the extra mile to ensure residents can live their best lives and keeping managers and key agencies informed of progress.
The role and progression
All you need is a positive attitude and kind manner. You don’t need prior experience or qualifications to be a Care Worker. Full training is provided, with recognised qualifications, and an opportunity to progress via our Extra Care Academy which can help you move into management. Many Managers and Assistant Managers started out as Care Workers.
