To provide administrative and legal support to the Residential Conveyancing team, assisting fee earners in managing their caseloads efficiently and ensuring smooth progression of residential property transactions from instruction to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting fee earners with all aspects of residential conveyancing, including freehold, leasehold, new build, remortgage, and transfer of equity matters.
* Drafting standard correspondence and legal documents under supervision.
* Conducting searches, preparing contract packs, and requesting title deeds.
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors, and other third parties to progress transactions.
* Maintaining case management systems and ensuring accurate file management in line with firm policies and compliance requirements.
* Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
* Preparing financial statements and dealing with completion funds.
* Supporting the post-completion process, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
* General administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, photocopying, and diary management.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a conveyancing or legal support role (preferred but not always essential).
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Excellent communication and client care skills, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in document preparation.
* Good IT skills, including case management systems and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently.
* Knowledge of the conveyancing process, Land Registry, and SDLT procedures is desirable.
