Offer description

We are looking for a passionate Counselling Lecturer to join our Early Years, Education & Social Care Department.

The successful applicant will help to transform the lives of our students by teaching across our Counselling qualifications, predominantly at Level 2 & 3 and will have pastoral responsibility for a year group.

This is a part-time role, working 14 hours per week.

Interviews are planned to take place on Friday 5th September.

Responsibilities include:

1. To teach courses specified by the Departmental Leadership Team.
2. To assess the work and progress of all students and provide them with constructive and timely feedback.
3. To seek ways of improving student performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery, and obtaining and analysing feedback.
4. To develop and apply innovative approaches to improving the learning environment, teaching and/or assessment and feedback methods
5. Engage in professional development concerning teaching, learning and assessment, including the use of an evidence-informed approach, which utilises the outcomes of scholarship to enhance teaching practice.
6. To participate actively in curriculum development, and, where appropriate, in cross-college marketing activities.
7. To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
8. To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
9. To be responsible to the Head of Department for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all assigned classes.
10. To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements, off-site visits and activities where appropriate.
11. To maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students' learning, and to report accurately on the progress of both individuals and groups.
12. To proactively contribute to the success and vision of the department
13. To undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or the Head of Department
