About the role

:
1. Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
2. Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning styles and abilities.
3. Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social interaction within the classroom and around school.
4. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
5. Implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour support strategies effectively.
6. Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
7. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff and external professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
8. Monitor and record student behaviour, progress and wellbeing, reporting concerns where appropriate.
9. Support students during transitions, break times and enrichment activities when required.
10. Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and student welfare at all times.

About you:

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

15. Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
16. Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
17. Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
18. Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
