The Role
Job Purpose
The post holder(s) will work as part of the clinical pharmacy team in University Hospital Monklands providing clinical pharmacy services across a range of specialties including Infectious Diseases, Renal Medicine, Surgery and Anaesthetics, and General Medicine. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines, while supporting education, audit, and service development. You will be working across the 4 pillars of advanced pharmacy practice and so undertaking the RPS core advanced curriculum is highly encouraged.
Additional Information Specific to the Role
Delivery of high-quality clinical pharmacy services to designated wards and departments including:
1. Surgery & Anaesthetics: Critical care training, surgical receiving, and urology wards supporting perioperative prescribing and working with the MDT.
2. Medical Rotations: Acute medicine, medical high dependency, frailty, respiratory, cardiology, gastroenterology and endocrinology. Opportunities available for training to provide outpatient clinic support.
3. Infectious Diseases: Antimicrobial stewardship, supporting patients with blood borne viruses, supporting NHS Lanarkshire OPAT service.
4. Renal: Supporting dialysis patients, working with the renal pharmacy team, supporting renal anaemia clinics.
You will participate in consultant ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings in addition to conducting patient specific medication reviews. You will supervise and mentor junior pharmacists, foundation trainee pharmacists, and pharmacy students. The post provides the opportunity for delivering teaching sessions (formal and
