An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Healthcare Scientist to join our laboratory team in the post of Quality & Training Manager, based in Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual, with proven leadership ability, to lead our Quality Management System and Training and Education Programme across all laboratory disciplines and to support Point of Care services. You will have the ability to work well withing teams and will lead the work of the Quality and Training Teams. You will have the ability to work well under pressure, for example leading in UKAS Inspections.
You must hold an MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, or IBMS Fellowship / Higher Specialist Diploma.
IBMS Certificate(s) of Expert Practice in Quality / Training or additional qualifications in Quality or Training will also be encouraged.
Active participation in CPD will be expected and opportunities for further study are supported and encouraged. You will be employed Monday - Friday core hours, although on occasion your presence may be required out with these hours, per the needs of the service.
Forth Valley Laboratories are busy, well-equipped departments providing a service to the Acute Hospital, Community Hospitals, and General Practices in Forth Valley. They comprise the departments of Microbiology (including Molecular Diagnostics/ Virology), Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Haematology/ Transfusion and Point of Care Services.
This is a multidisciplinary post, covering accreditation in all laboratory disciplines.
Knowledge of UKAS ISO;15189 (2022) standards is essential.
The Microbiology & Pathology Laboratories are currently UKAS ISO;15189 (2022) accredited.
Clinical Chemistry, Haematology/ Transfusion Departments & the PoCT service are currently working towards ISO 15189(2022) accreditation
