Working within our Duxford Logistics Team, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising shipments, ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining compliance with hazardous goods regulations. Your expertise in transport planning, route optimisation, and regulatory compliance will help drive cost-effective and efficient transport solutions. Role Responsibilities : As a Transport Planner, you will have the following responsibilities: Coordinating and scheduling shipments of chemical products to customers, warehouses, and production sites. Ensuring timely and cost-effective transport while meeting all regulatory requirements. Monitoring and maintaining compliance with shipping laws and safety standards, including ADR, Globally Harmonised Systems (GHS), and REACH. Managing shipping documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), customs paperwork, and transport labels. Optimising transport routes and modes (road, rail, sea, and air) to balance cost, speed, and safety. Building strong relationships with logistics providers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Continuously identifying improvements in logistics processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Tracking shipments and resolving any transport issues proactively. Experience and Competencies : We are looking for experienced candidates with excellent communication skills and a solution-focused approach. Experience: Previous experience in logistics, or shipping, ideally in the chemical or hazardous materials industries. Knowledge: Familiarity with hazardous materials shipping regulations, safety standards, and chemical handling practices. IT Skills: Knowledge of SAP. Computer literacy with high proficiency in MS Office Attention to Detail: Strong ability to ensure compliance with strict shipping protocols and to manage detailed records. · Organisational Skills: Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams, vendors, and customers. Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot shipping issues and provide efficient solutions.
