Hours: 8:30am–4:30pm OR 9:30am–5:30pm (venue-dependent)
Travel Expenses: 30p per mile after the first 35 miles per day (car share uplift available)

The Cricket Academy (TCA) is a specialist cricket programme for children aged 7 to 16, offering innovative games, tailored coaching and match play. Sessions cover batting, bowling and fielding, and are delivered by ECB-qualified coaches using high quality equipment trusted by professional athletes.

Role: The Cricket Academy – Coaching Manager
We are seeking a professional, organised and skilled Coaching Manager to oversee the delivery, safety and quality of The Cricket Academy camp.
The Coaching Manager is responsible for the smooth daily operation of the camp, managing staff, upholding safeguarding standards, delivering high quality cricket sessions, and ensuring an exceptional experience for children and parents. You will also lead your own group and support coaches in delivering the TCA curriculum to high standards.
This role is central to maintaining a positive camp environment and ensuring the camp is run the “Activate Way”.

Key Responsibilities
Pre Camp
•Complete Activate Camps training.
•Complete all onboarding tasks accurately and on time.
•Develop a strong understanding of the timetable and curriculum.
•Arrange group allocations and support creation of the camp timetable.
During Camp
•Represent Activate Camps professionally in full uniform at all times.
•Manage camp set up and registration.
•Deliver an organised and engaging Extra Time Club activity.
•Assess children on Day 1 to support effective grouping.
•Supervise downtime such as breaks and lunchtimes.
•Lead a group of approximately 10–15 children.
•Deliver fun, progressive and technically strong cricket sessions aligned with the curriculum.
•Mentor and support other coaches and assistant coaches.
•Manage pastoral, safeguarding and injury concerns as a senior team member.
•Take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all children on camp.
•Ensure a clean, safe and well organised camp environment.
•Communicate with parents when required.
•Act as the main point of contact for Head Office.
•Report hazards or incidents promptly and professionally.
•Support reflective practice and encourage goal-setting within your group.
•Assist with end of day collection and ensure children leave safely with their belongings.
•Lead team challenges and implement the points system as required.
•Complete all paperwork, including registers, incident/accident forms, daily checklists and pre session checks.
•Lead the Star of the Day ceremony.
•Complete a full equipment inventory on Day 1.
Post Camp
•Pack away all equipment safely.
•Ensure coaching session logs are completed and submitted.
•Participate in an end of day staff debrief.
•Prepare equipment, session materials and plans for the next day.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
•Valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
•Strong safeguarding knowledge.
•Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety.
•Experience leading a group.
•Passion for working with children.
•ECB Level 2 cricket qualification or significant cricket coaching experience.
•Good ability to communicate with parents.
Desirable
•ECB Level 3 coaching qualification.
•Excellent technical cricket knowledge.
•Experience managing a staff team.
•Previous head coach or senior coaching experience.
•Holiday camp experience in a leadership role.
•Experience mentoring or developing coaches.
•Evidence of ongoing CPD.
