RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INTERIM DELIVERY LEAD Plan & orchestrate delivery across interdependent workstreams (customer journeys, website, AI pilots), managing scope, critical path, RAID, sprint ceremonies, and quality gates; align suppliers and internal teams to shared outcomes. This includes designing journeys that work for residents with limited digital access or literacy. Resource and unblock: sequence work, surface gaps, commission targeted capacity (content design, research, delivery, dev) and drive decisions through governance (SRO/Board) Service design leadership: champion evidence ‑ based design, accessibility and inclusion, assisted digital, and measurable outcomes; ensure user research and content standards are embedded into delivery. AI pilots governance: run pragmatic test ‑ and ‑ learn cycles with human oversight; ensure transparency statements, DPIAs/EqIAs, and ethical guard ‑ rails are in place; capture benefits and lessons for scale. Stakeholder engagement: build trust with Members, senior officers, frontline teams, suppliers and partners; communicate progress crisply and pre ‑ empt risks; align with statutory and programme timelines. Ensure assisted digital pathways are co-designed with teams (Customer Service, Communities) Benefits & reporting: define success metrics (customer effort, resolution times, accessibility conformance, channel shift); provide cadence ‑ based reporting into boards and SMT. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE INTERIM DELIVERY LEAD Proven orchestration of multi ‑ stream public ‑ sector change, ideally in local government, combining service design, digital platforms (CMS/CRM/forms/integration), and supplier management. Modern delivery leadership: agile planning, sprint leadership, RAID, benefits realisation; able to simplify and decide. Stakeholder savvy: can win buy ‑ in across Services, Comms, Finance, Legal/Procurement, and with delivery partners — bringing people with them through change. Service design mindset: accessibility (WCAG), content design, user research, open standards; understands that what we design and the skills we deploy determine success more than tools do. AI literacy for delivery: confident orchestrating ethical, human ‑ in ‑ the ‑ loop pilots in real services; can evidence outcomes without hype.
