Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Engineering Technical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for engineering and manufacturing projects by analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. This role is critical in supporting project planning, bidding, and decision-making, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.•
* Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, tooling, subcontracting, and overheads.
* Liaise with engineering, procurement, and production teams to validate cost assumptions.
* Prepare quotations, proposals, and bid documents for clients.
* Analyse project risks, contingencies, and alternative cost scenarios.
* Maintain and update cost databases, pricing structures, and historical records.
* Support project managers and sales teams during negotiations and contract reviews.
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
* Proven experience in cost estimating, technical sales support, or project engineering.
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Proficiency with estimating tools, ERP/MRP systems, and MS Excel.
* Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, etc.).
* Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and presentation abilities.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
* Experience with CAD-CAM systems and CNC manufacturing processes.
* Familiarity with industry-specific standards (e.g., aerospace, automotive, or construction).
* Background in supplier/vendor management.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and cost optimization techniques.

Working Hours Monday to Thursday 7.30am till 16.30 Friday 7.30am till 12.30pm
