As part of our grow your own culture in Bracknell, internal promotions and investment in management capacity, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to join our Conference and Review team, to make a difference to the lives of children and young people.


About you…

You are an experienced, confident and reliable person who is committed and passionate about delivering better outcomes for our children and families. You will have experience in managing a Conference and Reviewing team including Allegations against Staff and Volunteers.

You are committed to safeguarding children and ensuring their voices are central to all planning and decision-making. You are confident in applying key statutory frameworks such as Working Together to Safeguard Children, Keeping Children Safe in Education, and the IRO Handbook, and you use this knowledge to maintain high standards and consistent oversight for children on protection plans or in care.

You understand the importance of working holistically with families, combining high support with high challenge. With a practice rooted in collaboration and underpinned by Motivational Interviewing (MI), you are ready to lead by example and contribute meaningfully within a close-knit, supportive team environment.


About the team…

Our service is shaped by the Family Safeguarding Model, with a strong emphasis on collaborative working and keeping families together wherever it is safe to do so. Motivational Interviewing underpins all of our practice, and we take pride in supporting each other through a culture of openness and shared commitment.

We are focused on meeting statutory requirements while keeping the needs of children at the center of everything we do. We maintain high aspirations for all our children, working in strong partnership with families and other professionals to ensure they are safe, supported, and able to reach their full potential in stable care environments.

* To support the Head of Service in providing strong leadership for the service area, based on a clear vision of the outcomes to be achieved for children on child protection plans, looked after children and allegations against staff and volunteers and the ways in which this will be done.
* To ensure the service has effective operational and strategic relationships with Children's Social Care, other council departments, partner agencies and the third sector, with regard to looked after children and safeguarding and child protection. This will include development of strategies to improve performance.
* To maintain effective monitoring and quality assurance within the team to ensure CLA Reviews, Child Protection Conferences and Allegations against Staff and Volunteers enquires are conducted in accordance with policy and regulations and to the standards set within the service and council.
* To directly contribute to the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF). To maintain processes and mechanisms for measuring, reporting on and monitoring, to assure and improve the quality of practice within the team and across CSC.
* 28 days* annual leave increasing to 33 days* after 3 years’ continuous service.
