Class 1 Driver
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Bilston, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.
Shifts: any 5 out of 7 22:00 - 05:00
Pay rate:
* Basic: £17.00 per hour
* Weekends : 19.00

Day-to-day duties
As a Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
* Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
* Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
* Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
* Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
* Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
* Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
* Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential skills
To be successful as a Class 1 Driver, you will need:
* A valid UK Category CE licence
* A minimum of 12 month's experience driving CE vehicles
* No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
* A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
* Good spoken and written English
* Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
* A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
* Effective communication skills
Desirable experience:
* Previous commercial driving experience
Training:
* Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
