Teaching Assistant (1:1) – SEND / EHCP Support
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in Year 1.
The child is a bright and engaging little boy with autism who benefits from a bespoke timetable and highly individualised support. He can become overwhelmed in a busy classroom environment and therefore requires a calm, proactive adult who can support emotional regulation and engagement with learning.
About the role:
1:1 support for a child with autism in Year 1
Implementing and adapting a bespoke timetable
Supporting transitions, emotional regulation and access to learning
Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider team
Supporting medical needs (training will be provided by qualified staff)

Bright and capable, with strong interests he can hyperfocus on, particularly in quieter environments
Benefits from structure, predictability and clear boundaries
Enjoys having a sense of control and therefore needs consistent, calm boundary-setting
Responds well to proactive, supportive and emotionally attuned adults
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism (EHCP experience desirable)
Is calm, patient and emotionally intelligent
Can set clear, consistent boundaries in a nurturing way
Is proactive, flexible and reflective in their practice
Enjoys working as part of a supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
