Manufacturing Engineer - 1) Composites 3D Weaving or 2) Textiles Engineer/Programmer
Working Pattern: Full time
Location: Bristol
Rolls-Royce is developing manufacturing methods, processes, and materials for their composite fan systems. We are experiencing growth as we deliver composite components and manufacturing programs for Civil Aerospace and Defence divisions.
Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for two Manufacturing Engineers to work within the Composite Technology Facility (CTF) as part of our Engineering, Technology, and Safety Business. Responsibilities include:
* Developing and delivering composite preform processes, including 3D Weaving, for new fan systems.
* Ensuring process techniques meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
* Creating and managing technical packages, including equipment specs, process FMEAs, tooling, and HSE documentation.
* Identifying process improvements using statistical methods to meet future requirements.
* Driving process quality towards zero defects, managing technology strategies for industrialization.
* Designing preform processes and equipment programs, verifying them on the shop floor.
* Collaborating with internal and external specialists, supporting design for manufacture.
* Understanding manufacturing processes to optimize programming and equipment use.
* Ensuring products meet safety, quality, and cost standards, supporting technology readiness and industrialization.
Candidate Profile
To succeed, you should have:
* An engineering or relevant discipline degree, HND, or HNC with manufacturing engineering experience.
* Experience in 3D weaving or similar textile manufacturing processes.
* Knowledge of technology readiness levels and process maturity.
* Experience with aerospace management systems and process controls.
* Skills in textile design and manufacturing, including weave programming and CAD/CAM tools like CATIA or Siemens NX.
* Optional experience in coding languages such as Python or C#.
