Project Engineer
Location: Deeside, CH5. Commutable from Deeside, Wrexham, Mold, Liverpool, Birkenhead, Chester, Ruthin.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an international business specializing in the medical device field. This role is suitable for a multi-skilled electrical project engineer seeking a secure position with excellent growth prospects. Following significant investment and increased orders, they are looking to hire an additional engineer to support the current workforce. The position initially offers a contract basis with the potential to become permanent.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Act as engineering lead for projects involving new manufacturing equipment and modifications of existing processes.
2. Own and drive equipment delivery from initial specification through design reviews, FAT/SAT, and full validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
3. Coordinate with vendors to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements.
4. Lead technical investigations and process improvements during equipment development and integration.
5. Support production handover, ensuring consistent output, quality, and performance.
6. Update and maintain documentation in compliance with GMP, change control, and internal standards.
7. Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, uptime improvement, and lean manufacturing.
8. Ensure engineering activities adhere to site and corporate EHS policies and procedures.
9. Seek continuous improvement opportunities throughout project phases.
10. Adhere to legal, corporate, and site legislation and procedures.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience in automation, process equipment, or production line integration.
* Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., GMP, FDA, MHRA - medical device, pharmaceutical, or food production).
* Proficient in validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) and change control processes.
* Familiar with Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt desirable).
* Understanding of external regulations, particularly GAMP5, FDA & MHRA, EHS, and manufacturing legislation.
* Experience in equipment and process validation and capability studies.
* Involvement in capital equipment specification and vendor selection.
